ANYONE CAN COME. Caritas Opens Doors.

The title of this year’s Caritas annual theme, in which the Caritasverband für das Dekanat Sigmaringen-Meßkirch e.V. is actively participating again this year, as in previous years, can be taken literally: At Caritas, all people are fundamentally welcome with their worries and needs. In these times marked by crises, wars, and natural disasters, Caritas’s services are needed more urgently than ever in many places and for many people.

The ‘open red door’ stands as the epitome of Christian charity and mercy. In 2025, it is the guiding motif of Caritas’s annual campaign in Germany. The ‘open door’ can be found on posters and postcards. It stands in front of Caritas facilities and in the middle of public spaces. ‘Come as you are’ – is Caritas’s invitation to all who suffer under the burden of their distress and grief, their loneliness and problems. As an offering of voluntary welfare work, it is directed at all who need help. This is Caritas’s claim: Whether we work in youth welfare, homelessness services, disaster relief, or international aid. The campaign draws attention to the importance of our work, creates opportunities for conversation, and also sends demands to policymakers. Politics must not slam doors that we have kept open so far.

At Caritas or the Caritasverband für das Dekanat Sigmaringen e.V., it applies now and should continue to apply in the future: Any person can come to us, and we help every person in need.
